 In For The Long Haul

June 1, 2011 by Lee Volkov

"A quick look through the music equipment for sale on websites like Craigslist and Ebay will quickly show that the economy has taken it's toll on the mobile DJ business, like many other industries."

 Music Ideas

March 15, 2010 by Lee Volkov

It amazes me that DJ's will still advertise we bring 20,000 or 50,000 songs, or a million songs to your event, the bottom line is the average wedding lasts only 5 hours and many couples, because of arriving later than the guests due to reasons like picture taking, only are there for 3 to 4 hours of their reception. If the average song takes 4 minutes to play, that equals 15 an hour, and 75 total for the night....start to finish. Add the fact that the first 2 hours are probably going to be devoted to cocktail hour and dinner hour, and now we are looking at 3 hours of actual dance music. Those 3 hours should equate to roughly 50 songs. Where do we find the right 50 songs you ask?

My suggestion would be to go to our request links and click on the most requested songs page. http://www.lvsoundent.djintelligence.com/music/requested.asp There you will find the popular hits from many different areas, and what songs were most used at other weddings for special dances like bride/groom, bride/father, groom/mother, etc.

By the way, and to no surprise, the artist to see the largest percentage increase in online requests was no other than Michael Jackson. Good luck to all brides and grooms finding the perfect songs and please email me at lvsound@aol.com for further help and ideas.

 Nicole and Derek's Wedding Rocked!

September 14, 2009 by Lee Volkov

When the bride and groom come out to Kid Rock, played loud and proud, you know it's going to be more party and less wedding very quickly! That's what happened this past weekend in Twinsburg at the Hilton Garden Inn, home to Triv's (1100AM WTAM) Vegas Style Show every November. So we partied this weekend with Nicole, Derek, and about 170 of their closest friends and family members.

On Top Of The World...Or At Least Canton!

September 1, 2009 by Lee Volkov

This past Saturday, August 29th, was another great LV Sound Wedding. Our couple was Aubrey and David and the location was The Canton Club in The Chase Bank Building, downtown in the Hall of Fame City. I learned that The Canton Club dates back to 1907 and the elegant rooms are filled with historical artifacts and artwork, reflective of Canton, Stark County, and even President William McKinley.

A New Feature On Our Website

August 27, 2009 by Lee Volkov

I hope this new feature puts into perspective that something like entertainment, that dominates a majority of the evening, should not take a backseat to something else less dominant. After all, dinner might only last an hour and dancing could last 3 or 4. If you are spending more on chair covers than entertainment, then it is my personal opinion that you should re-prioritize your expenses should your budget deem so.

 Four Flowergirls And A Wedding!

August 20, 2009 by Lee Volkov

Upon the arrival of the wedding party, we discovered that one of the Michael, one of the groomsmen, was alone because one of the bridesmaids, Caley, had to make a quick dash to another wedding she was part of; Caley would return later in the evening and even made it in time for the bridal party dance! So Michael was given the task of escorting the four most adorable flower girls you have ever seen- Abby, Bella, Sophia, and Olivia; all sisters and I believe ranged in age from about 2 to 7.

Cocktail / Dinner Music Need Not Be Boring !

August 12, 2009 by Lee Volkov

"I'm saying that the DJ walked away from the concept of finding an upbeat mix of music to help build up the atmosphere of the event. And why not play something that the bride and groom like to listen to during dinner; if they're Kenny G fans, great, but there might be another style of music the DJ could pick to better the set up the mood for the rest of evening after cocktails and dinner."

 Forgotton Things At Weddings

August 19, 2008 by Lee Volkov

After 20 years of being a mobile disc jockey in Northeast Ohio, here are a few things that I notice happen at a lot of weddings. If it's my wedding, I'll do my best to keep it from happening or try to do what I can to help immediately fix the problem if it does.
